Normally, I avoid Hollywood breaking news stories but this one I think has the potential to scare plenty of elderly folks like my mami who adores Hanks.
Deadline.com is reporting that Oscar winning actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, while traveling in Australia for his upcoming movie, both tested positive for coronavirus.
Deadline received a statement directly from Hanks:
“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.
Tom Hank movies are quite popular with senior centers in the Boston area. News of his illness will hit many seniors hard.
I expect the ‘OMG even celebrities are falling victim’ could be a tipping point for those seniors still in strong denial.
